3 B’s School Behavior Expectations
Be Safe
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
In kindergarten, we first strive to recognize all of the positive behaviors happening at school. We have a jar that we add jewels to when the class demonstrates behaviors aligned to the 3 B's. When the jar is full, we celebrate as a class with events such as a pajama day, a dance party or a pizza party. It is our goal to help children learn to make appropriate choices. To that end, we explicitly teach expected behaviors and problem solving strategies and are constantly recognizing good choices. Sometimes, it is helpful for our little ones to visually see how their day is going. In the classroom we use a clip chart where each student has a clothespin marked with their name. All children start each day in the middle of the chart marked "Ready to Learn". They move up the chart as they make good choices or down the chart as they need reminders. This visual is to help them adjust any behavior that is not following our 3 B's listed above. Please
know that we realize our students are little and that many need our support
with following the expectations of a structured learning environment. Also
understand that our goal is for all children to be provided with an
environment in which students positively effect each other’s learning.
